Please Pray for Bellie...

I am writing to ask for prayer for Isabelle. She is going to be admitted Friday morning to the hospital to have the second of four oral surgeries. As it gets closer I am becoming increasingly nervous, her last recovery was long and hard. Because children with Down Syndrome have such small mouths there is not near enough room for her teeth coming in. That added to the fact she has an extremely high pallet due to the intubation at birth is making her teeth have NO room. The goal for Friday is to remove four teeth and start to "re-shape" her pallet. She is old enough now to have a huge fear at the sight of the hospital so I am dreading that. :( I have not told her yet we are going in. Please pray for a smooth and easy surgery, that her body will handle the anesthesia, and a quick recovery. Last time she bit her lip so many times while they were still numb, it took literally two months to heal bloody lips. We don't want that again. Also pray for good behavior for the boys while they staying with friends Thursday and Friday nights. Thanks for praying. Love, Amy

The Most Beautiful Day

Some of you have likely seen some of these photos already. Here is a day trip the boys and I took and it was seriously the most beautiful day! The air was crisp and cool and it had just rained, Gods hands were all over it- We love to explore the cove and find all kinds of interesting sea creatures. Bellie bells misses some our fun because she is a little studious 2nd Grader. Click here to see the full set.

She's like putty in my hands...

I'm telling you Ethan and Jack have some sort of organized conspiracy going on. They push me to my very limits with disrespect and disobedience and then pull something like this to bring me back to mush- That is how we ended up at the park today in the first place, not for good behavior but for bad- We had to ride bikes because I could not stand the fighting any longer. I'm reading my book trying to get a break from the constant drama only to look up and see this. "Yes, she's like putty in my hands," Ethan thinks. And he is right...

what can we do for You?

My greatest desire is for God to see us like this. With our hands open ready to do His work.

The Open Water

Knowing God will come with us wherever we go I was wishing my daydream would turn into a reality this morning... The kids and I could board one of these boats and just take off for open waters. With no particular destination in mind, perhaps ending up someplace tropical. An escape from all the hard things life throws at you.

Many of you have sent email messages that you are having a hard time leaving a comment. (Only good ones please :) Here's how you do it. After reading a blog you will see a comment box at the bottom. Colorful Heap

We came across this heap waiting for school to start the other day. Being from Nebraska I still find this sort of interesting. The boys, not so much... I love going down to the waterfront where you can see the real fisherman stuff.

To the Beach...

No time like winter to visit... the beach. The kids and I packed up and went to Ocean Shores for a couple of days during mid-winter break. We had a lot of fun despite the weather. We found lots of sand dollars and each of the kids got to drive on the beach.. Yeah, only in Washington!

Watch Him Grow

As I watched Ethan yesterday I was struck by how much he has grown. I am with him every single day but seeing him like this I was so proud of how he is constantly growing in knowledge and skill. It is a full time job to keep up with his constant desire to learn new things. What a fun ride...

Be our Witness...

Hello our family and friends... Welcome to our blog. I plan to use this to show you all where we go, what we see, a photo documentary of our life. Being out here in the pacific northwest without my husband has left a huge hole and sometimes I can feel a bit isolated from the ones who love us. With this cool little piece of technology we can feel more connected to all of you. You can leave us comments or just check in on our adventures. I have found the key to being a single mom is to keep these guys busy! So we invite you to witness our life...
